If bacterial contamination is present in the tank, it must be combated by adding a biocide such as grotamar 82 to the fuel. The use of diesel additives is subject to certain general conditions: The bacteria must be reachable by the biocide. This is not the case, for example, if there is a coalesced biomass. Here, the biocide cannot penetrate, but can only kill the outer bacterial layers. The remaining bacteria that are still alive can form new protective layers underneath. With this in mind, it is first necessary to determine how severe the contamination in the tank is. You can do this yourself or with the help of a camera inspection by the experienced team from MFT Mikrofiltertechnik in Hamburg.
Heavy bacterial infestation:
In this case helps only a Tank cleaning, in each individual chamber.
Clean fuel in the tank is pumped out with a mobile filter system.
Tank deposits are removed by means of suction and then the tank is wiped clean.
The biocide grotamar 82 is added as a shock dosage and for disinfection when refilling the ultra-fine filtered fuel.
Low bacterial infestation:
Deposits in the tank are hardly noticeable, only a thin biofilm is visible.
The tank contents are filtered with a mobile filter unit.
Grotamar 82 is used as a shock dose during refilling to kill residual bacteria.
No visible infestation:
Nothing can be seen in the tank, but slightly greasy coating appears in the filter.
The first time, we still recommend using the biocide grotamar 82 as a shock dosage to kill any bacteria that may be present.
